Music festival Topfest which traditionally opening the summer festival season in Slovakia will have on Piestany airport, larger areal than last year! Areal of the festival will have until 2 million square feet!

Novelty will be large parking lot on the concrete runway of the airport in festival site. Additional parking spots will be offer the camp next to car in the parking lot for that purpose. For symbolic price 1,-€ every car owner gets Topfest sticker, which will serve as proof when entering and going out from the festival grounds.

For the first time in history, the organizers had to deal with a parking area for buses, because almost from all of Eastern Europe was reported trips of Iron Maiden fans, arriving by their own buses.

Organizer Dusan Drobny: "Despite the high-positive response to last year's festival organization, this year we tried do some logistical elements even better, so I believe that quality of new parking areas in the festival site and other options for free time activities will help."

For those who arriving by public transport will be from thursday to sunday again ready shuttle buses from the main train & bus station to the tent city, the second route goes directly to the festival areal. Travel will have again symbolic price 0.70€.

For all visitors of Topfest will again available internet access via wi-fi for free throughout the festival area. The password itself will be available in info desk.

CZECH STAR TOMAS KLUS ON TOPFEST 2013!

Star of the 26 years old young man Tomas Klus, originally from Trinec, Czech Republic, increases rocket speed in his home country. Tomas Klus has become even in 2009 newcomer of the year, according the polls in The Angel Awards. His third album “Racek” in 2011 was the best-selling record in the Czech Republic and won the diamond plate. The record include also the hit singel "Panu Bohu do oken", which is by vote of the listeners the best Czech song of last year.

The increasing of popularity charismatic singer confirmed last year when he won the prestigious Czech Awards Slavik and after many years of dominance deposed sovereign of the poll - legendary Karel Gott, over whose he won in the lead about nearly 3000 votes!

Tomas Klus is also popular on Slovakia where he was already presented last summer with a great success on the Lodenica festival. And now he comes for the first time to the Topfest!

TOPFEST 2013 WITH SPECIAL GUEST OF IRON MAIDEN - VOODOO SIX!

Music festival Topfest which this year celebrate 10th anniversary welcome during last days of june hard rock band band from London, Voodoo Six - the discovery of Iron Maiden, which is support on their current European tour!

Iron Maiden taking with them to Piestany another delicacy - hard rock band Voodoo Six, which is by founder of Iron Maiden Steve Harris one of the best newcomer on british scene with the best debut album which he recently heard!

Voodoo Six was founded by guitarist Richie Faulkner and bass guitarist Tony Newtown sometimes in 2003, later was added drummer Dave „Grav“ Cavill, vocalist Henry Rundell and second guitarist Matt Pearc.

In 2005 they embrace the chance play with Iron Maiden in London, UK and next year they was already played at the major European summer festivals. Band released debut album 'Feed My Soul', with hit singel 'Crawl' which makes comparison to Audioslave, Alice in Chains or even Guns N’Roses...

"I'm really sorry that despite our personal friendship with the members of Kabat, who enjoyed for the jubilee year of Topfest, we didn't find understanding from their management and Topfest 2013 will be without the participation of Pepa Vojtek and his band," said festival organizer Dusan Drobny.

ON TOPFEST WILL PERFORM ALSO ANTI-FLAG!

Popular American band Anti-Flag is completing this years Topfest festival line-up. This will be Slovakian premier for the controversial punk rock formation.

The list of the jubilee 10th year of biggest open air, rock festival in Slovakia is still getting bigger. Organizers of Topfest confirmed next famous name, which will please fans of harder music. American band Anti-Flag is coming to Piestany!

Punkers from Pittsburgh celebrate this year 20th anniversary of being on music scene and from mid March they are going on huge worldwide tour, on which they will introduce their album The General Strike from 2012. It is the tenth studio album of the successful formation, which intensively defends human rights and criticizes war. Moreover, after 11th September, Anti-Flag started open fight against American government and on following album, they criticized directly president George Bush and his „war against terrorism or against oneself“.

Controversy is hidden in the name of the band, which the band members have chosen as reaction to young people waving flags in USA on hard rock concert yelling out phrases about freedom and refusing fascism, while they attacked the ones who did not agree with their opinions. According to Anti-Flag, this was only other form of fascism, and so they stand „against flags“.

Looking away from strict opinion orientation this band offers great songs with sharp tones, which found its fans practically everywhere. Formation consists of singer and guitarist Justin Sane, drummer Pat Thetic, guitarist Chris Head and bass guitarist Chris Barker (#2). Justin and Pat stated the band in 1988, but they started to present their selves in the stable composition and with their own songs five years later. Their debut album Die for the Government was presented to fans in 1996.

In two decades, Americans produced many famous singles. This is the End (For You My Friend) is the best known one also thanks to it being a soundtrack to computer game NHL 07. To popular ones also belong: Turncoat, One Trillion Dollars, Die for Your Government, Press Corpse and more.

In case of Anti-Flag, the fun fact is also their own music festival ANTIFest, which the band established last year when in May 2012 they organized its first year where they picked artists to perform. Anti-Flag was now picked by the organizers of Topfest with faith that Americans will take care of a great show also in front of our audience, which is they are known for and which they have already shown on many top European festivals

LEGENDARY ROCKERS SWEET ARE COMING TO TOPFEST!

Another pleasing surprise for visitors of jubilee 10th Year of festival Topfest is that the British band Sweet, which has been on the music scene for more than 40 years, will perform in Piestany!

In 70’s they subdued the whole music world and Sweet still performs at a stage. Their hits like Ballroom Blitz, Fox on the Run, Love is Like Oxygen or Teenage Rampage had been on top of the hit charts and are known till now. This year, the band is touring in the USA and Europe and they will stop at out biggest open air rock festival Topfest!

The band The Sweet started in Britain in 1967. The original members were Brian Connolly, Steve Priest, Mick Tucker and guitarist Frank Torpey, who was replaced by Mick Stewart and later by Andy Scott. “Classic” Sweet was born when the band joined the hardrock wave and in 1973 was at the top of British hit charts for the first time thanks the hit Blockbuster. Rockers‘ popularity was rising and in 70’s 13 of their songs ware in British Top 20.

Mega-successful single Fox on the Run was number one in 1975 in Germany as well as in Australia and highlighted the popularity of the band, who change their name to Sweet (without “The“), all over the world. The band released eight albums during their most famous decade, including most successful records: Sweet Fanny Adams, Desolation Boulevard, Give Us a Wink, Off the Record a Level Headed; which had great sales in the United States. After they have harden their style, professional talked about them not as glam rock or hard rock band, but rather as glam metal band.

After Connolly left, the fame of Sweet has fallen. In 1985, Scott and Tucker decided to regain it. Even though Tucker has left the project due to health problems, guitarist Andy Scott completed the formation with great musicians, with which he still performs. Currently, the bass-guitarist and singer is Peter Lincoln, keyboardist and second guitarist is Tony O´Hora and on drums plays Bruce Bisland. “New“ Sweet went on many tours: American, British and they visited Australia also. The band released an album last year called New York Connection that includes cover versions of their own songs, and also their new single from 2011 Join Together, first in 10 years.

BILLY TALENT ON TOPFEST 2013!

After the legendary band Iron Maiden are Billy Talent another headliner for largest open air rock festival on Slovakia, which traditionally opening the summer festival season under the Tatras, this time with premiere three-day program!

"We are very pleased that we can add this great name to the list of performers for Topfest 2013. Hopefully, that will delight the fans, because this group was very often requested by them," said Dusan Drobny from festival organizing team.

Billy Talent are currently on tour with their fourth studio album Dead Silence which was released in september 2012. After three studio records Billy Talent I, II, III, they come with the new stuff that was produced in self directed. The album contains catchy tunes with crisp sound and the current texts, which denounces life on social networks and send people to live a "real life".

Billy Talent playing 20 years in the same lineup - Ben Kowalewicz (vocal), Ian D'Sa (guitar), Jon Gallant (bass) and Aaron Solowoniuk (drums). Band was formed in 1993. During first years they was named Pezz and they released debut album Watoosh!.

Rising global popularity of Billy Talent is the result of hard work. Three albums full of honest rock ensure to group status of one of the most successful Canadian artist of all time and significant international success. Billy Talent was played first time on Slovakia last year in Bratislava. On Topfest 2013 they will come to present their new album.

IRON MAIDEN ON TOPFEST 2013!

The Agency DUNA is extremely proud and happy to announce headliner of the biggest open air rock festival in Slovakia. Festival TOPFEST welcome on Thursday 27 June at the airport in Piestany one of the world's greatest legends - the group IRON MAIDEN with their current stage MAIDEN ENGLAND SHOW! The MAIDEN ENGLAND TOUR marks the third chapter in the History of Iron Maiden, a journey which began in 2004 with The Early Days DVD and subsequent 2005 Early Days Tour. Part Two followed in 2008 with the Live After Death DVD and the band embarking on their ground-breaking Somewhere Back In Time World Tour 2008/9, which saw them play to over two million fans in almost 40 countries flying between shows on five continents on their customised Boeing 757, named Ed Force One, and piloted by vocalist Bruce Dickinson.

Now MAIDEN ENGLAND sees the band recreate the stage show of the 1988’s Seventh Son Tour and playing many songs from that legendary tour and the 1989 concert VHS video titled "Maiden England", which lends its name to this tour.

NIGHTWISH ARE HEADLINERS OF TOPFEST 2012

Finland metal band Nightwish will be headliner of Topfest 2012. Band which has five members is on scene from 1996. Band was formed with keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen and guitarist Erno "Emppu" Vuorinen who in band plays from start to now.

Nightwish has released 7 studio albums. Last album "Imaginaerum" was released in 2011. Band is now on European tour, which was started on Göteborg, Sweden.

GODSMACK ON TOPFEST 2012

One of the headliners of Topfest 2012 during the first holiday weekend (29. - 30. june), will be american heavy metal band Godsmack, which is currently in the United States the most successful performers in this genre.

Godscmack are on scene from 1995. During the history band was released 5 studio albums and one compilation of their biggest hits "Good Times, Bad Times... Ten Years of Godsmack". Their music is inspirated from bands as Metallica, Led Zeppelin or Alice in Chains.
