| Umeå Jazzfestival Umeå Jazz Festival (Swedish Umeå Jazzfestival) is an annual jazz festival in Umeå, Sweden. The festival comprises some 30 concerts held mainly at stages in the Umeå folkets hus and theNorrland Opera. Both Swedish and international groups and artists perform, mainly in genres related to modern jazz and improvisation. The festival had its premier in 1968. It is usually celebrated in October or early November. Through tradition, new creations, creativity and accessibility UMEÅ Jazz offers a selection of the most prominent jazz musicians of the time in Sweden and abroad.
