Simone Felice - Strangers

 Betyg

Review3479_Simone_Felice_-_Strangers

Simone Felice is a founding member of Catskill Mountain-based artists The Felice Brothers and The Duke & The King. He has toured and worked with artists including The Band's Levon Helm, Conor Oberst & Bright Eyes, Gillian Welch & David Rawlings, The Lumineers, Mumford & Sons, Rick Rubin, The Avett Brothers, and Old Crow Medicine Show. He released his debut solo album in 2012 and "Strangers" is the follow up to that. This new album was recorded in the Catskills and includes appearances from guest artists The Felice Brothers, Leah Siegel, and Wesley Schultz & Jeremiah Fraites of The Lumineers.

So what can you expect from the album? Well in short you can expect some superbly well written songs, great tunes and fantastic vocals. Think Tom Petty, Lou Reed, Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen and you've got an idea of what to expect.

Brief comments on a couple of tracks...

The album opens with "Molly-O!" which seems like an obvious choice to be the first single from the album. It's got a strong chorus, nice pace and great vocals.

"Running through my head" sounds like a church hymn at first but gradually changes to a more conventional sounding song.

The vocals in "Heartland" remind me of Bruce Springsteen in some of his less rocky songs. It's yet another great track - in fact there isnt a single weak track on the album.

This really is a great album - the songs are simply top quality and the great vocals plus good music mean this album is one you can listen to again and again without getting bored of it. Strongly recommended.

"Strangers" is out now.
