The Summer Well Festival returns this year on August 8-9 at the Stirbey Estate in Buftea, opening at 3 p.m. The 10 bands that 8 summer wellwill sing at the two-day festival are: Kasabian, Foals, La Roux, The Maccabees, The Wombats, Jungle, Kwabs, Foxes, Circa Waves, Sohn. This year too, the “I’m with the BAND” competition offers its winners the chance to be closer to the Summer Well artists.rnrn“The festival’s partners are preparing varied programmes that will add extra fun for those who want more than just live music. In the Orange area the fans will find games, a photo wall where they can take photographs of themselves and a recording studio where they can sing Summer Well songs and can then enjoy the recording of the hit they sang. Moreover, they will be able to buy various remesh products made up from Orange advertisement banners. All the funds collected will then be redirected toward the Workshops without Borders Association in order to support the creation of new jobs for disadvantaged persons. Remesh products are environmentally friendly and are proof of the fact that various resources can be recycled and reused in a different context,” the organizers announced.rnrnLikewise, Summer Well fans can take a walk through the Stirbey family estate which is full of stories about the high-life of the 19th Century. Those willing to do so can meet the guides in front of the Stirbey Palace on Saturday and Sunday, at 4 p.m. or 6 p.m.rnrn“The walks will feature stories about the high-life of the end of the 19th Century, a century dubbed the “century of beards and sideburns,” a period in which women played a secondary role in a man’s world but were the heart of parties at ‘ceremony palaces,’” according to the Romanian Association for Culture, Education and Normalcy (ARCEN).rnrnARCEN will present the most important customs that were the rule in the reception rooms of the Stirbey Palace, the menus offered but also the most interesting intrigues that took place in the reception rooms of rich families. The end of the 19th Century and the start of the 20th Century is a period characterized by manners, good music, debates on literature and philosophy. Gloves, high hats and pince-nez were worn, people loved passionately, duels took place, elegant coaches made in Bucharest or brought from Vienna and Paris were used.rnrnThe walks are free of charge and only those attending the Summer Well festival can take part in them. They last 45 minutes.rnrn“The Summer Well Festival will have a special bus line that will link the Stirbey Estate to Bucharest. The buses leave from the Romanian Peasant’s Museum bus station (behind the Antipa Museum in Victoriei Square) and stop at the Stirbey Estate in Buftea. The bus line will operate from 2.30 p.m. to 1 a.m. The departure from Buftea will be made from the station set up close to the Stirbey Estate. The buses will leave after the concerts end and will make several runs,” the festival’s organizers also announced.rnrnUntil August 1, exclusively in Orange shops, subscriptions for the two-day festival will be available for RON 199, plus the taxes of ticketing companies. Tickets can also be bought through the Summer Well application or online on www.easytickets.ro., for RON 239 plus taxes.rnrnThe Summer Well Festival’s official application, through which music fans can find all the necessary information about the festival, is meant for devices that have Android or iOS operating systems and can be downloaded freely through GooglePlay and AppStore.rnrn
