Ilosaarirock, known locally as the best weekend of the summer, usually takes place during the 2nd weekend of July in Joensuu, Finland. The festival is held at a scenic lakeside location, and is within walking distance from the city centre.

Ilosaarirock has been running since 1971. The festival is organised by Joensuu Pop Musicians’ Association, a non-profit organisation founded on the idea of supporting the local live music scene.
