EPICA | Band reveal 'Martyr Of The Free Word' clip, taken from their stunning new DVD 'Retrospect'

On March 23, 2013 Dutch Symphonic Metallers EPICA celebrated their 10th Anniversary with a special concert dubbed Retrospect. Accompanying the band on stage for the unforgettable 3-hour best-of set was the seventy piece Extended Reményi Ede Chamber Orchestra and the Miskolc National Theatre Choir. The celebratory event was filmed for their stunning new DVD titled 'Retrospect' and the band have just posted another track from the release up on YouTube. Watch 'Martyr of the Free Word' in full, here:

EPICA’s guitar player Isaac Delahaye comments: "This is one of my favorite tracks to play live: starting fast and furious, going into a groovy verse, giving the choir a pole position in the bridge. Awesome. We're very happy that this great show is now officially out on DVD and Blu-Ray, and that we can share this with all of our fans. We're already working hard on the new studio album, but this retrospect release reminds us of the great times we've lived so far. And we're glad you've been part of it!"

Watch 'Unleashed' on YouTube:

Ten high-definition cameras captured the sold-out show while EPICA played in front of nearly five thousand ecstatic fans. In addition to a collection of the band's biggest hits from their entire back catalogue, this once-in-a-lifetime spectacular also features the live debut of 'Twin Flames' and the previously unreleased 'Retrospect'; covers of classics by Vivaldi, Pergolesi, and Oscar-winning film composer John Williams; two guest collaborations with NIGHTWISH and ReVamp vocalist Floor Jansen and a very special performance of the band's breakthrough single 'Quietus' with founding members Jeroen Simons, Ad Sluijter and Yves Huts.

EPICA’s guitar player Mark Jansen commented on the release: "Retrospect was both our 10th anniversary party and a highlight of our career. The trailer shows it all: our loyal fans, the orchestra and choir from Hungary, an energetic band! When I watch the trailer my thoughts go back to this special day and the great team-spirit of everyone involved in this project!"

Retrospect is out now via Nuclear Blast as a deluxe hardcover book with 36 pages and 2 DVDs + 3 CDs. There is also a Blu-ray version available. Order 'Retrospect' here: http://smarturl.it/EpicaRetro
