Coronation ball unveil debut track

You Had My Heart’ is the first track from Tunbridge Wells based quintet Coronation Ball.

A slice of fiercely intelligent indie-pop from youthful minds, frontman Dominic Scott cites "Be My Baby" by the Ronettes as an inspiration for the interplay for the lead vocal and the backing vocals, and Bill Medley's delivery on The Righteous Brothers' "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" as an influence on the middle section. Along with the titans of 60's pop, the band take equal influence from modern hip-hop production and leftfield indie-rock, and you can feel that in the brooding swells and twists that underpin the track.

The group are the perfect example of dilligent patience, working on their material in the studio and in rehearsal until it felt complete enough, mature enough for a wider audience. "You Had My Heart", recorded with Hugh Worksett, is an opening of those vaults, if you will, and a perfect introduction to the band's ambitious, eclectic melodicism.

Catch the band live in London on these dates:
12 Bar Club in Soho on the 6th of February

Young and Lost Club Records at The Nest in Dalston on the 25th of May.
