Mountain Bird

New single out on 18th September via
FYP Recordings

“Highly cinematic and has an astonishing ability of sending us to a whole new dimension” - The 405

“The band have well and truly succeeded in producing an epic track, which shows touches of absolute brilliance. I can only imagine what they sound like live” - Artrocker Magazine

Mountain Bird is the stage moniker for Adam Öhman, the Stockholm-based multi-instrumentalist, who is about to release a highly anticipated new single, the ethereal synth-pop track Dream.

The lyrics of Dream reflect on the feeling of longing for something or someone. Adam Öhman was lying sleepless trying to analyse things. The verses reflect his nighttime thoughts. It's a tribute to “all of those people who love something or someone, to not let go, to keep on fighting for what they love.” For Öhman, it's Mountain Bird.

Dream is written, arranged and performed by Adam Öhman. “It was the very first track I wrote for this album, in a period of almost 2 years,” he said. To carve his unique sound Öhman uses his bare voice, combined with a guitar, a Moog Sub Phatty and a DSI Prophet 8 analogue synthesizer.

The track was recorded in Öhman’s own studio in Fridhemsplan, Stockholm; it was arranged and performed by himself, while production duties were shared between Öhman, Christian Persson, Gustaf Holter (Capitol Music Sweden) and Chris Haxa.

Dream is a unique sonic experience combining atmospheric ambience with post-rock introspection to excellence. It brings together the minimal elements of The xx with the sonic grandeur of M83 filtered with Scandinavian elegance. The outcome is stunning.
Mountain Bird’s new album will be out in spring 2016.
