Scott Matthews - The great untold

Ivor Novello award winning singer-songwriter Scott Matthews releases his sixth studio album at the end of April. The album is mostly acoustic and is fairly stripped down - primarily just him singing and playing guitar. That stripped down nature sounds easy to do - after all it's just acoustic guitar and vocals, but while it's simple in theory, to make an album like that is actually very hard - it's far too easy to end up with a very boring album, so the real skill is to make it so the songs sound different enough from each other to keep the audience's attention. That is something that Scott Matthews has managed very well - the songs have their own distinct sounds, and of course the fact that he's got such a beautiful voice really helps.

It's a great album - his songwriting and superb vocals are what nmake this album well worth a listen.
