RADAR new media art festival

The RADAR Digital Art Festival Launches its 5th Edition: Future Nature

Over 20 immersive art installations by Romanian and international artists will be showcased on October 4-6 at Caro Hotel.

RADAR, the largest multidisciplinary new media art festival, which combines art with emerging technologies and nature, is pushing the boundaries of new media art with a line-up of international artists from France, Poland, Denmark, Portugal, Hungary, Ukraine, and Bulgaria.

The 5th edition, themed Future Nature and presented by ING, brings together immersive art installations in a transformative experience where art and technology seamlessly intertwine, reshaping interactions and human nature. The festival will also feature digital artworks by independent artists and studios from Romania.

The new media art installations presented in the exhibition utilize interactive mediums such as Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, Mixed Reality, Artificial Intelligence, video mapping, and various interactive sensors, allowing the audience to become active collaborators.

The artists featured at the festival invite the public to contemplate the future of nature, not just as a physical environment but as a dynamic force that shapes our habits, lifestyles, and modes of entertainment.

From 7 PM to 10 PM each day, the festival will host a live audiovisual performance stage, combining music with projections, allowing participants to enjoy incredible sound and visual shows created by some of the most creative national and international minds in this artistic field. This section is curated by Dilmana Yordanova and co-financed by AFCN.

The festival also caters to children through the RADAR Kids section, presented by Lidl, where they can interact with light and sound installations created especially for them by artists from Romania and Denmark.

RADAR AV is a cultural project co-financed by the Administration of the National Cultural Fund. The project does not necessarily represent the position of the Administration of the National Cultural Fund. AFCN is not responsible for the content of the project or the manner in which the results of the project may be used. These are entirely the responsibility of the grant recipient.

RADAR is an annual snapshot of the local new media art industry and a platform promoting new digital media in Romania and emerging artists, supported by ING.
