House of Lords: Precious Metal

Review3481_HoL_PM_Cover

The Lords return to former glory but without sounding strained. In the HOUSE OF LORDS catalogue there is one album that is hopelessly out of pring, "Demon´s Dawn" (1992). It´s easier to meet the pope than getting your hands on a copy. With their ninth album James Christian & Co hope to bring more rock into their AOR.
Opener "Battle" has a lot more punch than some of their 2000´2 outings. "Break Free" tags along without losing touch with the great sound of the bands albums. This si probably the most even album of their entire output. On the minus side I note the duet "Enemy Mine" with a very pop-ish keyboard pattern, and the warning lyrics of "Turn Back the Tide". On the bonus side there are; "Action" with its sweet blues base and great refrain, inspired album closer "You Might Just Save My Life" and the outstanding "Swimmin´ with the Sharks", that reminds me of the hungry band that started it all back in 1989.
This one is a favorite that left my player under protest - from me!
